Substitute Bassoon at Knoxville Symphony Orchestra

Staci Spring currently serves as a Lecturer of Bassoon & Academic Studies at Middle Tennessee State University from August 2024. Previously, Staci has extensive experience as a musician and educator, including roles as a Substitute Bassoon/Contrabassoon for Knoxville Symphony Orchestra and Chattanooga Symphony & Opera, and as Bassoon Faculty at multiple institutions such as Tennessee Governor's School for the Arts and Lee University. Staci has contributed to educational programs through positions at Chattanooga State Community College and The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, while also performing with various orchestras including Rome Symphony Orchestra and LaGrange Symphony Orchestra. Staci holds a Doctor of Music Arts from the University of North Texas, a Master of Music from Florida State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Brevard College.

Formally established in 1935, the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra reaches more than 200,000 children and adults each year by performing in the traditional venues of the Tennessee and Bijou Theatres, Knoxville Civic Auditorium, and in non-traditional places like school classrooms, hospitals, city parks, and churches.
