Michael Hutchinson

‘Michael is an exploration geologist with experience in a variety of styles of precious and base metal mineralization across both North America and West Africa.

His Ph.D. research combined high temperature-pressure experiments and a range of micro-analytical techniques to help determine the source of sulphur to large magmatic-hydrothermal ore systems, with implications for belt-scale magmatic fertility. Most recently Michael worked with HighGold Mining, leading regional reconnaissance exploration and contributing to the expansion of the flagship Johnson deposit and to the 2022 discovery of the ‘Ellis Zone’ epithermal-Au prospect.

Michael has an MSci. in Geology from the University of Bristol and a Ph.D. in Geology from Oregon State University.
