Star Salzman

Star Salzman currently serves as the Engineering Manager for Reliability Engineering at KoBold Metals, beginning in April 2025. Prior to this role, Star was the Staff Technical Lead Manager for Vulnerability Management at Cruise from October 2023 to April 2025, where responsibility included enhancing the existing Vulnerability Management program. Before joining Cruise, Star led the Vulnerability Management program at Twitter as the Staff Security Engineer from October 2022 to November 2023, also during a significant transition period for the company. From October 2017 to October 2022, Star worked at The University of Texas at Austin as the Deputy CISO, focusing on promoting secure behavior within a challenging environment, and additionally served as a University Lecturer on security topics. Earlier experience includes a managerial position for Hadoop Operations for Maps at Apple from October 2012 to October 2017, overseeing the operations of Hadoop infrastructure for Apple Maps. Star holds an AAS in Computer Information Systems from Austin Community College.
