Mr. Rohit Kochhar is the Founding Member & Managing Partner of Kochhar & Co. In addition to his pivotal role as the managing partner of the Firm, Mr. Kochhar is actively involved in advising leading multinational and large domestic corporations on a wide range of legal matters.
Mr. Kochhar has rich and diverse professional experience of over 33 years and his practice areas include complex corporate and transactional matters, mergers and acquisitions, high-stake commercial litigation. He is also India’s leading lawyer in white collar crime and corporate frauds arena.
Mr. Kochhar heads the anti-corruption and white-collar crime practice of the Firm. Over the years, he has represented numerous Indian and multinational companies on some of the most complex and high-profile disputes as well as white-collar crime cases / fraud cases that have been reported in corporate India. Rohit is regarded as one of India’s master strategists in such cases that involve the dual dimensions of criminal and civil remedies to be pursued by the aggrieved clients. Prior to setting up Kochhar & Co. 26 years ago, Rohit worked as a criminal lawyer for seven years.
Mr. Kochhar regularly advises numerous Global Fortune 500 corporations including prominent companies from North American, Europe. South East Asia and Japan on a host of complex law issues and is also a board member of the Indian subsidiaries of many such multinational clients.
Mr. Kochhar has been consistently recognized by world’s leading legal publications including the Chambers Global Guide, Indian Business Law Journal (IBLJ) and the Legal 500 as the Elite Leading lawyer for Corporate M&A in India.
Mr. Kochhar is a frequent speaker at various international and domestic conferences. He also conducts workshops, trainings and townhall sessions for clients on workplace discrimination & POSH, employee retrenchment/transfer, anti-corruption & anti-bribery matters. He also regularly writes for business and financial newspapers and is invited as an eminent panelist on legal issues of national importance by leading news channels.
He currently serves as the Honorary Secretary of the Society of Indian Law Firms (SILF).
