Manikandan Aniyath has more than 30 years of experience in the field of engineering, primarily in the railway industry. MANIKANDAN has held various roles throughout their career, starting as an Engineer at BPL Sanyo Technologies in 1988. MANIKANDAN then went on to work at Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in different capacities, including as an Engineer from 1990 to 1999 and as an Assistant Mechanical Engineer/Designs incharge of Bogies and Brake system designs from 2009 to 2014.
In between their time at ICF, Manikandan Aniyath worked at RITES LTD as an Inspecting Engineer, where they were responsible for third party inspection of railway materials at vendors premises and prepared over 35 quality assurance plans. MANIKANDAN also worked as a Senior Inspecting Engineer at RITES/Bangalore from 2008 to 2009.
From 2014 to 2017, Manikandan Aniyath served as the Works Manager at Integral Coach Factory, overseeing the manufacturing process. MANIKANDAN then joined Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation as the Deputy General Manager (Rolling Stock) from 2017 to 2019.
Currently, Manikandan Aniyath is working at Kochi Metro Rail Ltd, where they started as the Additional General Manager (Operation and Maintenance) in 2019. MANIKANDAN was later promoted to the position of General Manager (Operation and Maintenance) in 2020 and then further elevated to the role of Chief General Manager (O&M) in 2023.
MANIKANDAN ANIYATH completed a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calicut from 1983 to 1988. Prior to that, they pursued a Pre Degree Course in Science at Government Victoria College, Palakkad from 1981 to 1983. MANIKANDAN also obtained a Secondary certificate from PMGMH SCHOOL in 1981. Later, they pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in Finance, General from Indira Gandhi National Open University.
