Nikesh P V has over a decade of experience in the signalling and telecommunications sector, currently serving as Chief Section Engineer Signalling at Kochi Metro Rail Ltd since June 2016, overseeing the operation and maintenance of signalling subsystems. Prior experience includes working as a Signal and Telecom Inspector for Railway Project Management Company from April 2013 to November 2015, where responsibilities involved supervising the implementation of the ETCS Level 2 Signalling system for the North-South Railway Project in Saudi Arabia. Nikesh also held the position of Project Engineer at Himachal Futuristic Communications Limited, focusing on National Long Distance Network implementation, and worked as a Telecom Operation and Maintenance Engineer at RailTel Corporation of India Ltd, contributing to India's optic fiber network. Educational qualifications include a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Govt. Polytechnic College, completed in 2007.

The Kochi Metro Rail Project is the long cherished dream of citizens of Kochi city. The project is envisaged to increase citizens’ mobility that will in turn boost the economic growth as well as increase quality of life for the citizens by providing them an alternate mode of public transport to access jobs, business, education, livelihood, entertainment and other social activities. The project is planned keeping in view the cultural heritage and commercial significance of the city. The Metro Rail is safe, eco-friendly, and economical. Apart from providing connectivity, the project will bring about a more equitable allocation of road space by encouraging greater use of public transport.
