Claudia Tornquist (nee Sauer)

Claudia Tornquist (nee Sauer) has a diverse and extensive work experience in the natural resources and mining industry. Claudia is currently the President & CEO of Kodiak Copper Corp., a copper exploration company based in Vancouver. In this role, they work with the board to develop and execute strategies to grow the company and create value for shareholders. Claudia also serves as a Director for American Lithium Corp., Silver One Resources Inc., and Kennady Diamonds Inc.

Before their current positions, Claudia worked as an Independent Metals & Mining Consultant specializing in business development, financing, and mergers & acquisitions. Claudia was also the Executive Vice President of Business Development at Sandstorm Gold, where they led financing transactions and identified investment opportunities in mining projects.

Prior to that, Claudia had various roles at Rio Tinto, including General Manager of Business Evaluation, where they evaluated investment proposals, Project Leader for Investment Opportunity Generation, focusing on market and industry analysis, and Business Development Executive, responsible for M&A executions.

Earlier in their career, Claudia held the position of Director of Engineering at Zetek, coordinating the development of production facilities for alkaline fuel cells. Claudia also worked at LICA Development Capital as an Associate Director, assessing and negotiating investments in the engineering and technology sectors.

Claudia Tornquist's experience spans across leadership, business development, strategy, financing, and investment evaluation, making their a well-rounded professional in the mining and natural resources industry.

Claudia Tornquist (nee Sauer) pursued their higher education in a well-planned and progressive manner. In 1988, they enrolled at the Technical University of Munich, where they obtained their Masters of Engineering (Diplom-Ingenieur) in Production Engineering in 1994. Building upon their engineering background, Claudia then attended INSEAD in 1998 and completed their MBA degree.
