Joanie (Jo) Barnes

Joanie (Jo) Barnes has a diverse work experience across various industries. Joanie (Jo) currently works at Koios Medical as a Customer Enablement & Engagement Specialist, where they help customers understand and adopt the company's AI software for better diagnostic accuracy in breast and thyroid lesions. Prior to this, Jo worked as an Ultrasound Technologist at Orlando Diagnostic Center, where they provided excellent patient care and performed ultrasound exams. Joanie (Jo) also worked as an Ultrasound Physics & Instrumentation Instructor at Eastern Florida State College, preparing students for success in their exams. Before entering the healthcare field, Jo worked as an Anatomy & Physiology Instructor at the School District of Osceola County, teaching high school students important concepts and study skills. Joanie (Jo) also has experience in sales and customer service roles at The Home Depot and Sears, Roebuck and Co. In addition, Jo worked as an Administrative Assistant at Lombardi's Seafood, where they managed purchasing and handled negotiations with international suppliers.

Joanie (Jo) Barnes has a diverse education history. Joanie (Jo) began their academic journey at Valencia College from 2001 to 2003, where they obtained an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Pre-Major Biology.

Following this, from 2003 to 2007, Joanie attended the University of North Florida, where they pursued a double major in Biology and Psychology, earning a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree.

Taking a brief break from their studies, they completed some education courses at Florida Southern College in 2009, accumulating 12 credit hours. However, they did not obtain a degree during this time.

In 2016, Joanie enrolled at Eastern Florida State College and dedicated the next two years to Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Joanie (Jo) successfully completed the program, earning an Associate in Science Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography in 2018.

Joanie has also attained several certifications to further enhance their professional qualifications. In 2010, they earned a Professional Educator Certificate, specializing in Biology for grades 6-12, from the Florida Department of Education. Moreover, they obtained certifications including Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), RDMS General Abdomen (AB), RDMS Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN), and CPR for the Healthcare Provider. These certifications were acquired in various years ranging from 2010 to 2018 from reputable institutions such as ARDMS and the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association.
