Jonas Hartmann is the current Vice President of Engineering at Kolibri Games. Jonas has been with the company for four years and has held various positions during their tenure, including Head of Client Engineering and Lead Developer. In their current role, Jonas is responsible for everything related to technology at the company level. Jonas is also the authorized representative technology officer (Prokurist) and is responsible for driving game development initiatives to empower the best teams to make great games. Additionally, Jonas drives technology initiatives to increase efficiency of engineering teams, such as the adoption of standard DevOps practices such as infrastructure-as-code. Jonas also led the Unity development of the Idle Miner Tycoon game.
Prior to joining Kolibri Games, Jonas was the Lead Software Architect at Smilegate Games GmbH. During their time there, they were responsible for bootstrapping the European game publishing platform. This involved requirements planning, application design, and development. Jonas also managed internal and external developers, oversaw hiring and mentoring of engineering team members, and developed extensions for Hybris 6.6 (SAP's e-commerce product, Java + Spring based). Other notable accomplishments during their time at Smilegate Games include designing and supporting the build of a highly available Hybris cluster (Haproxy as LB), designing an account integration & migration solution (8M+ accounts), and single-sign-on integration of XenForo (PHP based) with Hybris. Additionally, Jonas setup continuous integration (Jenkins) and continuous deployments (Python / Octopus) for the company. Jonas also maintained legacy .NET applications (IIS, SQL Server).
Before Smilegate Games, Jonas was a software developer at Slotty AG for 1 year and 6 months. Prior to that, they were a researcher at PRAV for 1 year and 3 months.
