Jorge Salazar

Jorge Salazar has over 20 years of experience in software engineering. Jorge began their career in 2000 as a Software and Firmware Engineer at ASCI, where they co-developed the mechanical firmware module of the multi-bin mailbox paper handling printer accessory and wrote a Webjet Admin application plug-in for the mobile printing project. In 2003, they joined HP - GDL as a Software and Firmware Systems Engineer, where they fixed a critical defect in the light touch LaserJet 9000 product and developed embedded web content for remote diagnostics of paper handling accessories. In 2005, they joined Hewlett-Packard as a Lead Developer in Copy Firmware for the Enterprise Firmware Lab, where they collaboratively implemented features that improved HP’s competitive position in the areas of performance, warranty cost reduction and customer requests after official releases. Jorge also created web services infrastructure to drive automated testing, improved the reliability and performance of system level tests, and parallelized image comparison between reference copy images and images produced via automated testing, reducing testing cycles of new products from months to weeks. Jorge also took on the role of Web Services Developer and User Interface Firmware Developer, and was recognized as the best memory profiler in the Enterprise firmware lab and was one of the leads investigating critical memory issues. Jorge also led a performance investigation for embedded web services, resulting in a number of improvements. In 2015, they joined KONEXUS and AlertSense as a Senior Software Engineer, and in 2018 they joined Intuit as a Senior Software Engineer.

Jorge Salazar obtained a Bachelor in Science from Tecnológico de Monterrey between 1995 and 1999, majoring in CS and EE. Jorge then obtained a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) with a double major in EE and CS.
