Marco Wyss

Marco Wyss has extensive work experience in the field of international history and security. Marco currently holds the position of Professor of International History and Security at Lancaster University, where they have also served as the Director of the Centre for War and Diplomacy. Prior to this, they were a Reader in International History and Security and a Lecturer in the International History of the Cold War at the same institution.

Additionally, Marco has held various roles at other prestigious institutions, including being a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, School of Advanced Study, and a Research Fellow at Stellenbosch University in the Department of Military History, Faculty of Military Science. Marco has also worked as an Editor In Chief and Scientific Editor for the International Journal of Military History and Historiography and a Co-editor for the New Perspectives on the Cold War book series at Brill. Marco has been a Visiting Professor at Sciences Po Aix and Sciences Po Lille.

Furthermore, Marco has had involvement with the School of Advanced Study, University of London, where they served as an Associate Fellow at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies. Marco was also a Research Fellow at the University of the Free State and a Senior Lecturer in Politics and Contemporary History at the University of Chichester. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Researcher (FNS) at UNIL - Université de Lausanne.

Marco Wyss received their formal education from several prominent institutions. From 2001 to 2006, they pursued their Bachelor of Arts degree in History, Philosophy, and Journalism at the Université de Neuchâtel. Marco then went on to further their studies at the Geneva Graduate Institute from 2006 to 2008, where they obtained their Master of Arts degree in International History and Politics. Additionally, Marco Wyss holds two PhD degrees, one in Politics and International Relations from the University of Nottingham (2007-2011), and another in History from the Université de Neuchâtel (2007-2011).
