Ron Oomkes has extensive work experience in various roles within the energy and engineering sectors. Ron started their career in 1998 at GE Plastics as a Turn Around Manager. In 2001, they joined Kuwait Petroleum Europoort as a Staff Engineer. From 2007 to 2010, they worked as a Project Manager in Business Development at Vopak. Ron then served as the Project Director of Vopak Eemshaven from 2010 to 2011. In 2011, they became the Divisional SHEQ Manager EMEA at Vopak. Ron continued to progress within the company, holding positions such as Director of Operations and Technology in Vopak China from 2012 to 2015, and as a Project Manager in the Netherlands from 2015 to 2019. From 2019 to 2020, they served as a Senior Project Manager in Europe and Africa, before being promoted to Director of Projects in the same region until March 2022. Currently, they hold the role of Director of Projects and Engineering for Europe and Africa at Vopak.
Ron Oomkes has a Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (BSLP) and has also completed a cross-culture course in Shanghai.
