Daniel Gray

Daniel Gray has over 45 years of experience in petrographic analysis and research within the carbon materials industry. Currently serving as a Senior Research Scientist at Koppers Inc. since 2008, Daniel Gray specializes in both quantitative and qualitative analyses of industrial carbon materials, including metallurgical coal, coke, pitch, anodes, electrodes, and specialty carbons. Prior to this role, Daniel Gray operated R & D Carbon Petrography as a Business Owner from 2000 to 2007, providing microscopic analysis to various industries. Daniel Gray's earlier experience includes working as an Associate Petrographer at Coal Petrographic Associates from 1982 to 2000, where responsibilities encompassed coal maceral analysis and correlation of coal rheology testing. Daniel Gray began a career in the field as a Technician at W. F. Berry Associates from 1976 to 1982, focusing on sample preparation and exploration studies.
