Fatu W.

Fatu W. has a diverse work experience. In 2022, they began working as a Senior Research Associate at Korro Bio, Inc., where they help design, validate, and implement high throughput NGS and qPCR-based assays using various types of automated high throughput equipment. Fatu also deploys cell-based models and assays to screen drug candidates, and participates in the development and scaling of various in vitro assays.

From 2019 to 2022, they worked at Foundation Medicine in various roles. As a Molecular Technologist II, they collaborated on SOPs revisions and drafts as needed to adjust for process improvement initiatives and regulatory changes, and reviewed SOPs at set intervals and signed off to document knowledge of these procedures. As a Molecular Technologist I, they performed complex testing in compliance with internal SOPs and regulatory standards of CLIA, FDA, and CAP with limited supervision. As a Molecular Technician, they helped stock inventory in the lab, organized/set up new workstations, followed instructions defined in SOPs, prepared labware for automated protocols, and prepared reagents and solutions, scanned and filed specimen slides.

In 2018, they were a Student: Senior Capstone Design at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth College of Engineering.

Fatu W. began their educational journey in 2014 when they completed a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 2019. Fatu then continued their education in 2021 at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where they are currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology/Technologist.
