Heidi Fales began their professional career in 2021 as an Undergraduate Researcher in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. In this role, they studied Fabry Disease, a lysosomal storage disorder caused by genetic mutations in the gene encoding the enzyme alpha-galactosidase, in the lab of Dr. Scott Garman. Heidi developed a fluorescent protein construct to serve as a system to track the localization of alpha-galactosidase assisted by a small molecule pharmacological chaperone. In 2022, they joined Korro Bio, Inc. as an Associate Researcher.
Heidi Fales attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2018 to 2022, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
