Bhavin Desai has over 20 years of experience in the publishing industry. BHAVIN started their career at LexisNexis in 1996 as a Publishing Operations Specialist. In 1998, they moved to Elsevier Science as a Publications Technologies Analyst. From 2001 to 2012, they worked at Pearson Education in various roles, including Workflow Support Manager/Media Developer, Lead Content Management Specialist, Content Management Specialist, and Applications Specialist Coordinator. During this time, they managed and supported technical relationships with 9 offshore vendors, developed a streamlined workflow process for print and digital media, and co-architected Pearson Education Canada XML workflow. In 2012, they became the Director of Desai Health Research Consulting. Since 2016, they have been working as an IT Project Manager at Kortext, where they are responsible for SOW development, project management, executive leadership, procurement, contracts management, time & cost management, scope management, quality control & quality assurance, communications & stakeholder engagement, risk assessment & management plans, project meetings & presentations, responding to project emergencies & stakeholder concerns, records management, issues & RAID logs, implementation log, compliance and project regulatory Approvals, and managing multi-functional geographically dispersed teams and virtual teams.
Bhavin Desai obtained a BA in Political Science with a concentration in Legal Studies from Manhattanville College in 1996. In the same year, they also obtained a Paralegal Certificate from Manhattanville College. In 2015, they completed the Foundations of Instructional Design Principles course at Ryerson University. In 2016, they obtained a Scrum Master Certified (SMC) certification from SCRUMstudy - Accreditation Body for Scrum and Agile, as well as a Scrum Fundamentals Certified (SFC) certification from the same institution.
