John Pamplin

Director, Innovation & Data-science at Koya Medical

John Pamplin has had a varied and impressive career. John began their professional experience in 2006 as a Lifeguarding Manager at Chapel Hill Country Club. In 2012, they were a Microbiology Lab Assistant at UNC-CH Marine Science and Team Organizer for the UNC Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation Simulation System Team. From 2013 to 2014, they were a Laboratory Teaching Assistant at the UNC Physics Department and conducted undergraduate research. During this time, they also co-founded Volumetric and was an alumnus of ZeroTo510 and Highway1. In 2014, they founded Akimbo, producing the world's first active compression wearable, and in 2018 they joined Koya Medical, Inc. as Director of Innovation & Data-science and an Advisory Board Member. In 2019, they began working at EY as a Data & Analytics Senior Consultant.

John Pamplin obtained a Bachelor of Science with Distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2014, majoring in Applied Science: Biomedical Engineering. John then attended the Institute for Advanced Analytics, where they earned a Master of Science in Analytics in 2019. John also holds three certifications: SAS Certified Statistical Business Analyst Using SAS 9: Regression and Modeling from SAS, SAS Certified Base Programmer for SAS 9 from SAS, and Google Analytics Individual Qualification from Google.
