Laura Montpetit

Laura Montpetit, CPA, CA, CIA, currently serves as Executive Director at KPMG Canada, having previously held the position of Senior Manager within the same firm, focusing on Financial Institutions and Real Estate sectors. With extensive experience managing large external audit projects, Laura demonstrates expertise in IFRS and Canadian Auditing Standards, and plays a key role in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) assurance engagements while mentoring emerging professionals. Prior to KPMG, Laura excelled as a Senior Manager at Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, leading the implementation of IFRS 17 and managing teams of accountants and analysts. Additional experience includes a leadership role at the Canadian Public Accountability Board, conducting regulatory inspections across various industries, and earlier career contributions at KPMG in audit services. Laura holds a BSc and MAcc from the University of Waterloo.
