Bas Smits

Bas Smits is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the field of mergers and acquisitions. Currently serving as a Director at KPMG Nederland since October 2017, Bas has also held the position of Associate Director at KPMG Transaction Services since December 2004, where responsibilities include leading due diligence engagements and providing comprehensive M&A advice to clients. Prior to these roles, Bas worked at Ballast Nedam from October 1999 to November 2004, progressing from Business Analyst to Manager, focusing on strategic planning and investor relations related to M&A and restructuring. Bas holds a Master's degree in Financial Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam, completed in 1999, and completed VWO at Erasmus between 1984 and 1990.
