Gerard Whelan is a consulting economist with 30 years of experience in transport strategy and investment opportunities. Currently, Gerard serves as Director of Corporate Finance at KPMG, where they lead multi-disciplinary project teams and provide expert advice on various aspects of the transport sector. Prior to this role, Gerard was a Divisional Director at Systra and a Senior Lecturer in Transport Economics and Transport Policy at the University of Leeds. Gerard holds a BSc in Economics, an MSc in Transport Planning and Engineering, and a PhD in Economics, all from the University of Leeds and the University of Hull.
