Bryan Bindloss has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Bryan started their career in 1999 as a Design Intern at Futurefarmers. Bryan then worked as a Graphic and Interaction Designer at big (design firm), where they focused on empathy-based interaction design. After that, Bryan worked as a Graphic and Interaction Designer, Freelance at Design Within Reach, where they gained experience in e-commerce, print catalog, and studio environment design. In 2007, they started their own design business called Bryan Bindloss Design, where they managed and designed project-based engagements for various industries. Bryan later joined MENDE DESIGN as a Designer, crafting experiences for clients and contributing to the award-winning SFMOMA program guide. Bryan then freelanced at Tolleson as a Senior Designer and worked at Gymboree as a Senior Designer, Freelance, where they collaborated with multidisciplinary teams and provided design research and strategy recommendations. Bryan also worked at Volume Inc. as a Senior Designer and later as a Design Director, where they delivered creative concepts, coordinated strategies, conducted user research, and created brand identities for enterprise clients. Currently, Bryan is working at KQED as a Lead UX Designer and recently took on the role of Director of Product Design. In 2018, they also worked as a Contract Brand and UX Designer as a freelancer. Throughout their career, Bryan has received recognition through design awards and feature articles for their work.
Bryan Bindloss earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Graphic Design from the California College of the Arts in the years 1996 to 2000. Prior to that, they attended the University of California, Santa Cruz from 1994 to 1996, studying Fine/Studio Arts, General. Bryan later pursued a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Transdisciplinary Design from the California College of the Arts between 2008 and 2010.
