Marcus Hughes

Marcus Hughes is a seasoned legal and regulatory professional with extensive experience in the digital asset and financial services sectors. Currently serving as Vice President and Global Head of Regulatory Strategy at Kraken Digital Asset Exchange and as a Venture Partner at Sentinel Global, Marcus also participates as an Angel Investor in the Atomico Angel Programme. Previously, Marcus held the position of Chief Risk Officer at BitMEX, where responsibilities included overseeing regulatory affairs and the rollout of new product lines. As Managing Director and General Counsel at Coinbase, Marcus was instrumental in expanding the company's presence in Europe and managing international legal operations. With prior experience at Morgan Stanley in their Legal and Compliance Division and other notable roles, Marcus has developed a robust expertise in legal strategy and compliance in high-growth environments.
