Cees Smits

Cees Smits has a strong background in engineering and manufacturing, with experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Cees is currently working at Kraton Corporation as a Principal Process Engineer, where they provide technical oversight and conducts troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Prior to that, they worked at Arizona Chemical as a Senior Engineering Specialist, where they were responsible for bringing new products and processes into the manufacturing process. Cees also has experience at Dow Benelux BV and Dow Chemical, where they held various roles in technology, manufacturing, and project management. Cees has extensive experience in commissioning, start-up, and process improvement, including as a Six Sigma MAIC Black Belt.

Cees Smits obtained an ir degree in Chemical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology from 1978 to 1985. Prior to that, they attended Beekvliet from 1972 to 1978, studying Gymnasium. In addition to their formal education, they also hold certifications as a Functional Safety Engineer - Safety Instrumented Systems from TÜV Rheinland, obtained in August 2016, and as a Six Sigma MAIC Black Belt from The Dow Chemical Company, obtained in 2001.
