Irwan Hidajat

Irwan Hidajat has a strong background in process development and scale-up, with experience in various companies and industries. Irwan is currently working as the R&D Technical Director - Process Development and Scale Up at Kraton Corporation since October 2023. Prior to this, they held the role of Technical Manager at Kraton Formosa Polymer Corporation starting in February 2020.

Irwan'sprevious experience includes working at Kraton Polymers as a Technical Leader - Polymer Scale Up from December 2016 to February 2020, where they led a process development group and troubleshooted process chemistry and product quality issues. Irwan also conducted manufacturing assessments for new products and led commercial plant trials. Before that, they worked as a Sr. Process Development Engineer at Kraton Polymers from July 2011 to February 2020, where they shepherded new polymer development from lab scale to commercial production and developed new processes to enable new polymer development. Irwan was also a part of the start-up team for the Semiworks Plant and resolved process chemistry and equipment issues.

Prior to joining Kraton Polymers, Irwan Hidajat worked at Sun Chemical as a Sr. Process Development Engineer from October 2005 to June 2011. Here, they developed and implemented a more economical process for making high-performance pigments and successfully commercialized new pigments based on this process. Irwan was responsible for scaling up processes for new product development.

Earlier in their career, Irwan Hidajat was a Process Technologist at GE Plastics from September 2002 to October 2005, where they gained experience in process technology. Irwan also worked as a Manufacturing Group Manager at PT Lautan Luas Tbk from 1996 to 1998, overseeing manufacturing unit performance, enforcing strategic policies, and leading ISO-9002 certification efforts. Irwan also played a role in developing the company's human resource system.

Irwan Hidajat began their career as a Process Engineer Super Intendent at PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Center from 1992 to 1995, where they worked on plant design, construction, commissioning, and start-up for low-density and high-density polyethylene plants. Irwan also implemented a supervisory control system and conducted training for operation supervisors and operators.

Additionally, they completed an M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Houston from 1990 to 1992.
