Aaron Fletchersmith

Aaron Fletchersmith has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Aaron began their career as a Ramp Agent at Independence Air in 2005 before transitioning to a Contracting Intern role at Centennial Contractors in 2006. In 2007, they worked as an Engineering Intern at M.C. Dean, Inc., assisting with various engineering tasks.

From 2008 to 2016, Aaron held multiple roles at VT iDirect, including Associate Engineer, Engineer in the Hub Products Group, Test Engineer in the System Test Group, and Laboratory Operations Manager. In these positions, they contributed to the development and testing of hardware, software, and network systems, managed calibration efforts for lab equipment, and led a team of Hardware Technicians.

Aaron then worked as a Systems Engineer T2 - RF Engineering at BIT Systems from 2018 to 2019, where they supported the testing and documentation of antenna systems. From 2016 to 2020, Aaron was an Engineer - Satcom & RF at Booz Allen Hamilton, specializing in satellite communication systems.

Most recently, Aaron has been involved in various roles at Networks inMocean, Inc. and Kratos Defense and Security Solutions. At Networks inMocean, they served as a Senior Engineer and later as an Engineering Lead, managing teams and overseeing the testing and workflow of engineering projects. Aaron Fletchersmith holds a Masters of Engineering degree in Signal Processing from Virginia Tech, which they obtained from 2023 to 2027. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Electronics from George Mason University, where they studied from 2004 to 2008. Aaron began their undergraduate education at Indiana University Bloomington in 1999 and graduated in 2003 with a degree in English, specializing in Communication & Culture. In addition to their academic qualifications, Aaron has obtained certifications such as the GVF-CERT-SPA (Advanced Satcom Professional Certification) from the Global VSAT Forum (GVF) in September 2018 and an Amateur Radio - Technician's License from ARRL, The national association for Amateur Radio, in August 2015.
