David Porter has a comprehensive work experience spanning several industries. David started their career as a Fire Control Technician in the US Navy, where they were responsible for operating and troubleshooting various weapon control systems. After leaving the navy, they joined Micro Systems, Inc. as an Electronics Technician. David then worked at National Environmental Technologies, Inc. as a Design Engineer, where they designed and built wastewater treatment plants. David joined Kratos Defense and Security Solutions as an RF and Systems Engineer, where they were involved in the design and development of the Army Ground and Aerial Target Control System. Later on, they became a Senior Program Manager at Kratos, managing engineering manufacturing and design programs. Currently, they are the Director of Hardware Development Engineering at Kratos Defense and Security Solutions, overseeing the hardware development team.

David Porter earned a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florida, which they completed between 1992 and 1997. David furthered their studies and received a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the same university, completing it between 2001 and 2004. In May 2017, they obtained a certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute.
