Movement & Expressive Arts Faculty at Kripalu

Steven Hosking, LPC, has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in counseling, teaching, and therapy. Steven currently serves as a Movement & Expressive Arts Faculty at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Robin as a Social Emotional Learning Coach & Arts Educator, where they created and facilitated SEL programming to schools, districts, teachers, and families using evidence-based and expressive arts-based methods.

Steven also worked as a Field Therapist / Expressive Arts Therapist at Pacific Quest from 2021 to 2022, providing therapy to clients through expressive arts interventions. Before that, they served as a SPED Paraprofessional/Assistant Educator in the Developmental Learning Program at REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT 17, where they provided one-on-one academic and behavioral instruction to students using ABA and expressive arts methods.

Additionally, Steven has experience as a Counselor at Holistic Psychotherapy and as an Expressive Arts Therapist & Educator at Grove School, where they engaged clients in therapy sessions and facilitated art-related programs. Steven also had a role as a Residential Therapeutic Counselor & Arts Teacher at Grove School, teaching academic classes and providing therapeutic support to teenage boys.

Earlier in their career, Steven worked as an Expressive Arts Therapy Intern at Community Therapeutic Day School, co-facilitating interventions and counseling individual students. Steven also worked as a Kripalu Yoga Teacher and JourneyDance Teacher at XO Yoga, as well as a Volunteer in the Karma Yoga Program at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. Steven also dabbled in acting, participating in the production "Magic Tree House: The Musical."

Throughout their various positions, Steven has utilized their knowledge and skills in expressive arts therapy, counseling, and teaching, applying evidence-based methods to help individuals and groups achieve personal and collective well-being.

Steven Hosking, LPC completed their Bachelor's degree in Musical Theatre & Creative Writing at Syracuse University - College of Visual and Performing Arts from 2004 to 2008. Steven then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Arts degree in Expressive Art Therapies with a specialization in Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University between 2012 and 2015. In 2010 to 2011, they also completed their training as a Certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, focusing on Yoga Teacher Training and Yoga Therapy.
