Orfeas Boteas

C.E.O. and Founder at Krotos

Orfeas Boteas is the CEO and founder of Krotos, a company that develops audio software used by top film and game studios worldwide. Before founding Krotos in 2013, Orfeas worked as a sound designer, engineer, editor, and composer for commercials, short films, indie video games, TV shows, and documentaries. Orfeas also worked as an RSE Enterprise Fellow at the Royal Society of Edinburgh from 2014 to 2015. Orfeas has additional experience as a sound engineer at Gerodimos Vassilis and Correct Studio, as well as sound post-production work for commercials at Anosi. Orfeas also worked as a sound engineer and stage crew member at Polifono. In 2013, Orfeas participated in the Santander Breakthrough Programme as an entern with LAUNCH.ed at the University of Edinburgh, where they received business support and funding for products developed for Krotos LTD.

Orfeas Boteas completed their education with a Bachelor's degree in Music Technology and Acoustics from the Technological Educational Institute of Crete. Orfeas then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Sound Design from The University of Edinburgh. In addition to their formal education, Orfeas obtained certification in the Growth Marketing Programme from Startup Core Strengths in 2021.
