Lauren Weiner, PhD

Lauren Weiner, PhD has a diverse range of work experience in the field of clinical research and public health. Lauren is currently serving as the Director of Clinical Science at Ksana Health since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Twill (formerly Happify Health) as a Research Scientist in Clinical R&D and later as an Associate Scientist in Digital Therapeutics, Clinical R&D from 2021 to 2022.

From 2016 to 2021, Lauren held multiple roles at UC San Diego. Lauren worked as a Research Manager at the Moores Cancer Center, leading cross-functional teams in designing and implementing digital health studies. Lauren also served as a Teaching Assistant at the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science, teaching various public health courses and collaborating with faculty to incorporate social determinants of health and health equity into the curriculum. Additionally, they worked as a Health Coach, providing one-on-one counseling sessions and contributing to behavior change intervention development.

In 2020, Lauren worked as a Case Investigator at the County of San Diego, conducting individual case investigations for COVID-19 and providing guidance and resources to diagnosed individuals.

Prior to these roles, Lauren gained research experience at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where they worked as a Clinical Research Assistant II, coordinating studies on the impact of delirium on patient outcomes. Lauren also conducted qualitative interviews and performed thematic coding.

Other experiences include working as a Research Assistant at Health Resources in Action, contributing to community health assessments and impact studies, and as a Clinical Research Study Coordinator at Joslin Diabetes Center, where they conducted clinical research studies on diabetes and obesity.

Lauren's early experiences include conducting independent research at Tufts University on exercise and perceptions of age, serving as a Nutrition Intern at Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services, and as a Research Assistant at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging, studying dietary antioxidants.
