Marcus Stroud has extensive work experience in the field of news production and management. Marcus currently serves as the News Director for KTAL NBC 6 News since 2021. Prior to this, they were the Assistant News Director and later the News Operations Manager at CBS 42 from 2015 to 2021. In these roles, they were responsible for overseeing news operations and production, managing and scheduling news editors, recruiting and coordinating various production personnel, and handling special news projects and productions, among other responsibilities.
Before joining CBS 42, Marcus worked as the Chief Photographer and News Technology Coordinator at WAKA from 2013 to 2015, where they provided technical guidance, training, and leadership to newsgathering personnel. Marcus also worked as a News Photographer at ABC 33/40, Birmingham from 2005 to 2013, playing a vital role in the station's transition to HD and producing high-quality news video and sound.
Earlier in their career, Marcus worked as a News Photographer and later as an Editor, Sports Photographer, and Production Assistant at WXII 12 News in 2004 and 2005. Marcus started their professional journey as a Videographer and Digital Media Instructor at Metro Atlanta YMCA from 1999 to 2003.
Marcus Stroud earned an Associate's degree in Film and Video Production from Full Sail University in 1998. From 1991 to 1996, they attended Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies.
