Brandon Nicholls has a diverse work experience spanning over several roles and companies. Brandon started their career as a Technical Support Representative at StarTek in 1998. From there, they worked as a Web Developer at the University of Wyoming Financial Aid Department, where they added dynamic content to an existing site and consistently received high feedback ratings. In 2001, they joined OCI as a Software Engineer, developing applications for OLTP and reporting purposes and creating frameworks and components for other applications.

In 2010, Brandon became a Web Application Security Trainer at Medicity, delivering a two-day course on web application security and creating a sample application for students to practice hacking into. Brandon also worked at Medicity as a Senior Software Engineer, responsible for the development and maintenance of applications with over 1 million monthly visitors. Brandon then transitioned to the role of Lead QA Engineer, specializing in security testing and white-box testing, and assisting in managing agile processes.

Brandon joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2005 as a Lead QA Engineer, where they developed test harnesses, automated tests with TestNG, and specialized in security testing. Brandon later became a Senior Software Engineer, responsible for developing and maintaining applications used by local church units. In 2013, they joined the Open Web Stack Team at the church, defining the web development vision for ICS and mastering chosen technologies.

Before joining Kuali, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer in 2015, Brandon worked as a Web Developer at FamilySearch, focusing on the Memories team, which gathered, stored, and displayed artifacts about individuals. In 2022, they were promoted to the role of Engineering Manager at Kuali, Inc., where they currently serve.

Brandon Nicholls earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Wyoming between 1996 and 2001. Additionally, they obtained the MCSD certification from Microsoft in March 2005 and the SCJP certification from Sun Microsystems in February 2002.
