Aydin Turkay has a diverse work experience. Aydin is currently a Co-Founder at FiOR Medical. Previously, they worked as a CBID Design Team Leader at The Johns Hopkins University, where they led a team in developing a failsafe to prevent operating room fires. Aydin also worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Thakor Lab at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, where they evaluated prostheses performance using augmented reality. Aydin was also a part of the CBID Undergraduate Design Team at Johns Hopkins Center for Bioengineering Innovation & Design, where they worked with Vasoptic Medical Inc. to assess post-operative surgical site health. Before that, they were involved in technology and business development at Kubanda Cryotherapy, focusing on providing minimally-invasive tumor removal for pets. Aydin's work experience also includes being a member of the FTC Team 8393 BrainSTEM Robotics at FIRST, where they worked as a designer and builder for six years and won numerous awards. Aydin also worked as a Summer Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University, where they assessed the viability of using dissolvable micro-needles for drug delivery. Overall, Aydin has demonstrated a strong interest and expertise in the field of biomedical engineering and has gained valuable experience in research, design, and business development.

Aydin Turkay began their education by attending the Johns Hopkins Center For Talented Youth (CTY) from 2014 to 2016. Aydin then went on to enroll at Sewickley Academy, where they studied from 2006 to 2019. Upon completing their high school education, Aydin Turkay pursued a degree in Biomedical Engineering at the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering. Aydin focused their studies on Imaging and Instrumentation, as well as Neuroengineering. Aydin Turkay is expected to graduate from their Biomedical Engineering program in 2023.
