David Chappell

David Chappell is an Associate Scientist at Kula Bio, specializing in agricultural product testing and protocol development for crop trials. In addition, David serves as Battalion Commander for the General Studies Battalion within the Missouri Army National Guard, providing civil-military operations advisory support. Previous experience includes roles as Plant Biology Manager at NewLeaf Symbiotics, where David focused on sustainable agricultural practices and laboratory operations, as well as teaching as an Adjunct Faculty member at St. Charles Community College. David's background also features horticultural work with St. Charles County Government, agronomic research at Bayer Crop Science, and biological research during tenure at Monsanto Company and the University of Missouri. David holds a Graduate Certificate in Food Sustainability and Security from the University of South Florida, a Master of Science in Plant, Insect, and Microbial Sciences from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and dual bachelor’s degrees in Agricultural Science and Biology from Truman State University.
