Matthew Clark is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in employment and construction law. Currently serving as Associate General Counsel & Director of Legal Services at Kum & Go since March 2011, Matthew manages employment law matters for a multi-state retailer with over 5,000 employees, providing daily HR advice, coordinating investigations, and responding to government inquiries while successfully defending against numerous discrimination claims. Prior to this role, Matthew held the position of Associate Counsel at The Weitz Company, where expertise in drafting and negotiating construction contracts was developed, and began a legal career as an Associate Attorney at Davis Brown Law Firm. Matthew holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Prelaw from Cedarville University.

In 1959, W.A. Krause and T.S. Gentle used the first letters of their last names to create Kum & Go. The family-owned company has grown to encompass more than 420 convenience stores in eleven states. The stores sell its store brand products, such as gourmet coffee, water, beef jerky, potato chips, sandwiches and snack nuts, under the Hiland name.
