Reinier Gerritsen has extensive experience in the cultural sector, currently serving as Directeur-bestuurder at Kunstgebouw since March 2025. Previously, Reinier held significant roles at Gemeente Rotterdam, including Teamleider Cultuur and Senior beleidsadviseur within the Afdeling Cultuur from October 2018 to February 2025. Involvement with Kunstloc Brabant from March 2018 to June 2024 as a member of the adviescommissie Impulsgelden highlights Reinier's commitment to strengthening the Brabant cultural sector. Reinier also served as a bestuurslid for Jeugdcultuurfonds Rotterdam from October 2017 to October 2018, focusing on providing cultural education for children from financially disadvantaged backgrounds. Additional roles include serving as Secretary for the Directeurenoverleg van Rotterdamse kunstinstellingen from April 2013 to October 2018 and as a beleidsadviseur for the Rotterdamse Raad voor Kunst en Cultuur from January 2009 to October 2018. Reinier has further contributed to cultural discourse through involvement in various committees and initiatives, supported by a strong educational background with a Master of Arts from Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Kunstgebouw is expert in Zuid-Holland voor kunst en cultuur. Wij bieden het primair onderwijs in Zuid-Holland Kijk|Kunst en Doe|Kunst aan. Twee complete en samenhangende cultuureducatieve programma’s die voldoen aan de kerndoelen kunstzinnige oriëntatie. Medewerkers van gemeenten, onderwijs en culturele instellingen kunnen bij ons trainingen en cursussen volgen om zich verder te professionaliseren in cultuureducatie. We adviseren en ondersteunen gemeenten en culturele instellingen bij het uitvoeren van de projecten voor Cultuureducatie met kwaliteit. We organiseren netwerkbijeenkomsten voor culturele instellingen, penvoerders van de regeling Cultuureducatie met kwaliteit en cultuurnetwerkers. Zichtbaar maken wat er is, stimuleren wat er kan zijn.
