Martin de Vos

Global Head Of Research Vegetables at KWS Group

Martin De Vos has a range of research and leadership experience in the field of crop science. Martin is currently working as the Global Head of Research Vegetables at KWS Group, where they are responsible for building up the research department and implementing technologies to support breeding activities for various vegetable varieties. Prior to this, Martin worked at Keygene N.V. as a Program Scientist and Scientist, leading teams focused on studying important traits in crops and insect-crop interactions. Martin also played a significant role in the development and implementation of biotechnological solutions for practical crop breeding. Martin's earlier experience includes research associate and postdoctoral fellow positions at Boyce Thompson Institute, where they worked on genomic tools for aphids and participated in genome sequencing projects.

Martin De Vos obtained a BSc in Biology from Utrecht University in 1999. Martin then completed an MSc in Plant Biology at the same university from 1999 to 2001. Following that, they pursued an MSc (internship) in Plant Physiology at The University of Western Australia from 2000 to 2001. Finally, they obtained a PhD in Plant Pathology/Entomology from Utrecht University from 2001 to 2005.
