Monika Spiller has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and companies. Monika began their career as a Gardener at OBI Group Holding from 2000-2001. Monika then joined Leibniz Universität Hannover as a Postdoc and Assistant Lecturer from 2009-2012, focusing on research and teaching. Following this, they worked at Syngenta from 2012-2020, holding various roles including Cereal Trait Development Lead, Relationship Manager, Barley Pre-Breeder, and Technical Portfolio Manager. Monika'sresponsibilities involved overseeing research projects, managing relationships, and contributing to the development of cereals and barley. Currently, they are working at KWS Group as the Lead Wheat Research Germany.

Monika Spiller obtained their Dr. rer. nat. degree in Plant genetics from Leibniz Universität Hannover from 2006 to 2009.
