Brendan McAllister

Brendan McAllister has extensive work experience in software development, product architecture, and management roles. Brendan started their career at Citi as an Analyst Programmer, where they developed enhancements for the FX trading platform. Brendan then moved to First Derivatives, where they held various positions, including Senior Software Engineer, Product Development Manager, and Senior Product Architect. In these roles, they designed and implemented products for top-tier banks in the financial sector and managed development teams. At KX, Brendan served as the SVP Product Technical Lead, overseeing the architecture and delivery of the Kx Platform framework. Brendan also served as the SVP Head of the Engineering Department, responsible for directing and managing four teams involved in infrastructure, devops, and platform development. Throughout their career, Brendan has demonstrated strong technical skills in areas such as cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, Java, and automation using CI/CD pipelines.

Brendan McAllister received their education primarily from Queen's University Belfast. From 1998 to 2003, they pursued a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering MEng at Queen's University Belfast, where they studied subjects such as Mathematics, Computer Programming, Solid State Devices, and Telecommunications. Following this, they continued their academic journey at the same institution and obtained their PhD in Telecommunications from Queen's University Belfast between 2003 and 2006.

In addition to their formal education, Brendan McAllister also attained a certification as an AWS Solution Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in June 2019.
