Mathilde Cathébras

Scientist at Kymab

Mathilde Cathébras has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research. Mathilde started their career as an Intern at Robert Gordon University in 2011, where they studied the role of a cannabinoid receptor in high glucose-induced vascular dysfunction. Mathilde gained practical knowledge in techniques such as rat thoracic artery isolation, organ bath experiments, and ELISA techniques.

In 2013, Mathilde interned at ETH Zurich, where they focused on studying the adaptive function of phenotypic diversity in social insect colonies. Mathilde'swork involved studying the effect of phenotypic diversity given by age in bumblebees on contamination by a parasite and propagation within a group of the same phenotype. Mathilde gained experience in techniques like bumblebee culture, parasite culture, DNA and RNA extraction, reverse transcription, and qPCR.

Following their internships, Mathilde joined the Cancer Research Center of Toulouse (INSERM-U1037) in 2014 as a Research Assistant. Mathilde supported research projects, contributing to the center's goal of furthering cancer research.

In 2015, Mathilde joined Kymab Ltd as a Research Associate, working on various projects. Mathilde worked their way up to become a Senior Research Associate in 2018. Currently, they hold the position of a Scientist at Kymab Ltd, contributing to the company's scientific endeavors.

Overall, Mathilde Cathébras has developed a strong foundation in scientific research with experience in diverse techniques and roles.

Mathilde Cathébras obtained a Master 2 Professionnel degree in Vectorologie, Thérapie génique, Vaccinologie from Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III in 2013-2014. Prior to that, they completed a Master 1 degree in Génétique et Physiologie from Université Blaise Pascal (Clermont-II) - Clermont-Ferrand in 2012-2013. In 2011-2012, Mathilde Cathébras pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biological sciences (cell and molecular biology) from Heriot-Watt University. Mathilde started their educational journey in 2009 at IUT Clermont Ferrand, where they obtained a DUT Biologie degree with a focus on Analyses biologiques et biochimiques, which they completed in 2009-2011.
