Selam Alem began their career in 2018 as a Team Lead for CARDINAL OF MINNESOTA, LTD. Selam then joined Mayo Clinic as a Communication Technology Operations in the same year. In 2020, they moved to IQHC as a Medical Diagnostics Coding. In 2021, they enrolled in Prime Digital Academy as a Full Stack Software Engineer and was certified in the same year. Currently, they are working as a Software Engineer for Kyros.

Selam Alem has a Bachelor's degree in an unspecified field from Winona State University, obtained between 2017 and 2019. In 2020, they obtained a Sales Secrets for Small Business certification from LinkedIn. They are currently enrolled in Prime Digital Academy, pursuing a Full Stack Software Engineering Certification in Full Stack, expected to be completed in 2022.
