Matthew Pirritano started their work experience in 2003 as a National Science Foundation Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of New Mexico. Matthew then became an Assistant Professor at Chapman University from 2006 to 2008. In 2008, they joined the Orange County Health Care Agency as a Research Analyst IV until 2012. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as an Outcomes and Evaluation Manager at CHOC Health Alliance. In 2014, they joined L.A. Care Health Plan, where they held multiple roles including Incentives Project Manager, Manager of Health Informatics, and currently serves as the Director of Population Health Informatics.
Matthew Pirritano holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology & Sociology from the University of Mary Washington, which they obtained from 1992 to 1996. Matthew then pursued a Ph.D. in Psychology at The University of New Mexico from 1996 to 2003. Later, they completed their Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) in Public Health Education and Promotion at California State University, Fullerton, from 2011 to 2015. In addition, they obtained a certification in "The Data Scientist's Toolbox" from Coursera, although the specific month of completion in 2021 is not provided.
