Elisa K. Nethercott

Elisa Nethercott is an attorney with 17 years of experience practicing law in various capacities. Prior to transitioning to the nonprofit sector, she spent the first decade of her career focusing on white collar litigation and corporate compliance matters at Foley Hoag LLP in Boston, Massachusetts and Steinman & Rodgers LLP in Washington, D.C. While in private practice, Elisa sought out opportunities to represent victims of domestic violence, children with special education needs and underserved community members in landlord/tenant disputes on a pro bono basis. It was the rewarding nature of these legal representations that led Elisa to professionally pivot towards nonprofit work. Prior to joining LA Family Housing, Elisa served as Chief Compliance Officer for the LA Conservation Corps. In her current role, Elisa provides strategic counsel on risk management, compliance, ethics, employment law, contract negotiations and board governance as well as overseeing all litigation.

Elisa is licensed to practice law in California, Massachusetts and the District of Columbia. She received her Juris Doctor degree from William and Mary Law School and her Bachelor’s degree from William Smith College where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa. Elisa is also an avid hiker, outdoor enthusiast and classically trained pianist.
