Burke Green has been working in the software engineering industry since 2019. From 2019 to 2021, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Orion, where they were responsible for building a dispatch console website for real-time location tracking and voice/multimedia communications. Burke also built a Go client to test the communication system end to end and a UI/Server in Go (Gin) to give internal stakeholders managed access to Kubernetes pods. In 2021, they moved to Hearth, where they worked as a Frontend Engineer. During their time there, they built customer-facing features allowing them to send quotes and invoices to their customers, as well as an autosave feature for their customers to save their work in real time. Burke also handled on-call duties such as triaging bugs and interfacing with CS, Sales, and Engineering. The tools they used included React, React Native, Typescript, and GraphQL. In 2022, they moved to Opto Investments, where they currently work as a Software Engineer.

Burke Green has a diverse educational background. Burke obtained a Software Engineering Immersive from Hack Reactor in 2018. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's Degree in History from Virginia Tech in 2006, a Master's Degree in Education, Curriculum, and Instruction from Virginia Tech in 2004, and a BA in Physics from Virginia Tech in 2002. Burke also has several certifications from Coursera, including Algorithmic Thinking (Part 1) (2017), Principles of Computing (Part 2) (2017), Principles of Computing (Part 1) (2017), An Introduction to Interactive Programming in Python (Part 2) (2016), An Introduction to Interactive Programming in Python (Part 1) (2016), Capstone: Retrieving, Processing, and Visualizing Data with Python (2016), Python for Everybody Specialization (2016), Using Databases with Python (2016), Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python) (2016), and Using Python to Access Web Data (2016).
