Skye P. has over 15 years of experience in library operations and leadership roles. From 2016 to present, Skye serves as the Director and CEO of the LA County Library, where they oversee operations for one of the largest public libraries in the US. Skye has also acquired a significant grant for prevention programs. Prior to this, from 2013 to 2016, Skye was the Director of Broward County Government's library operations, and from 2010 to 2013, they served as the Assistant Director for Queens Library. Skye started their career at the San Francisco Public Library in 2001, where they held various roles, including Web Services Manager and Acting Systems Librarian. Overall, Skye has displayed a strong background in leading library operations, implementing special programs, and providing strategic leadership.

Skye P. obtained a BFA in Film and Video from Northern Michigan University from 1990 to 1996. Skye P. then went on to earn a Masters in Library and Information Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh from 2000 to 2001. Currently, Skye P. is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Information Studies at UCLA from 2021 to 2024. Skye P. also has additional certifications from the Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education in Leadership for the 21st Century, Senior Executives in State and Local Government: Leading Resilient Communities, and an unspecified certification obtained in 2023.
