La Familia
Freddie Barahona is an experienced mental health professional with a strong background in counseling and therapy. Currently serving as a Mental Health Counselor at La Familia since February 2020, responsibilities include providing prevention counseling, conducting psychoeducational workshops, and supervising mental health educators. Prior experience includes roles as a School Counselor at Ed Sped Solutions Inc., where counseling and IEP meeting participation were key tasks, and as a Mental Health Therapist at Family Paths, where individual and family therapy was provided to low-income children. Further experience includes working with at-risk youth at Fred Finch Youth Center, offering counseling services as an MFT Trainee at Golden Gate Integral Counseling Center, and completing an internship at Solano County. Education consists of a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
