Andrew Saphire

Andrew Saphire, Ph.D., is a seasoned scientist currently working at the La Jolla Institute for Immunology since May 2019. Saphire co-founded TildenBio in 2008 and serves as an advisor. From 2004 to May 2019, Saphire held the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Immunology and Microbial Science at The Scripps Research Institute, leading a lab focused on innate inhibitors of HIV-1 replication with funding from NIH and CFAR. Saphire holds a BA in Human Physiology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in Structural Biology and Cell Biology with a focus on intracellular signaling and viruses from Scripps Research.
