Aruna Dharshan de Silva

Aruna Dharshan De Silva is a highly accomplished academic and researcher in the field of Immunology, currently serving as a Professor in Immunology and Senior Lecturer & Laboratory Head at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University since June 2017. Aruna also holds the position of Director at the Institute for Combinatorial Advanced Research & Education (KDU-CARE). In addition, Aruna is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology since June 2012. Prior experience includes serving as Director and Senior Research Scientist at Genetech Research Institute, Sri Lanka from December 2007 to May 2017, and as a Research Fellow and Post-doctoral fellow at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University from 2001 to 2007. Aruna obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Immunology from Penn State College of Medicine, having completed studies there from 1994 to 2000, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Truman State University, received in 1994.
