Luis R Garcia Chavez

Luis R Garcia Chavez is currently serving as an Administrative Intern for Metro’s Mobility Corridors Team 3 Department at La Metro since October 2023. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Intern with the Occupational Health Internship Program, where responsibilities involved revising labor agreements and analyzing workplace violence data. Luis has also contributed to the University of California, Los Angeles Academic Senate as a Senator, advocating for student needs in budgetary recommendations. Additional roles include a Student Fellow with the Los Angeles City Council, focusing on food recovery initiatives, and leadership positions in environmental activism and budgetary analysis with the UCLA Green New Deal and Student Fee Advisory Committee. Luis has a robust educational background, currently pursuing a Master's degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning at UCLA, with earlier degrees in Political Science and Government.
