Thien Phan

Thien Phan is an Environmental Engineering Associate at LA Sanitation & Environment since December 2019, following a role as Transportation Associate I at Los Angeles Metro from March to December 2019. Thien has a rich background in project management as a Project Manager for ASCE at UCLA, overseeing the design and construction of a water filtration system for a competition and enhancing undergraduate learning on water and wastewater technologies. Earlier research experience includes conducting electrochemical experiments as a Researcher at the National Institute for Materials Science under Dr. Akihiro Okamoto and investigating the biodegradation of 1,4-dioxane in Dr. Shaily Mahendra's lab during tenure as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at UCLA. Thien holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from UCLA, earned from 2014 to 2019.
