Alessandro Roncone

Alessandro Roncone has extensive experience in the field of robotics and AI. Alessandro currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Lab0 since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an Assistant Professor in Robotics and AI at the University of Colorado Boulder from 2018. In this role, they directed the Human Interaction and Robotics group, focusing on the design of next-generation robot workers, collaborators, and companions. Before that, they held a position as a Postdoctoral Associate at Yale University from 2015 to 2018. At Yale, they focused on human-robot collaboration and advanced manufacturing, aiming to fundamentally change the interaction between humans and robots. Alessandro started their career as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia from 2012 to 2015, where they continued their work from their Ph.D. fellowship at the iCub Facility. Alessandro also completed their Ph.D. in Robotics, Cognition, and Interaction Technologies during this time.

Alessandro Roncone holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from the Università degli Studi di Genova. Prior to that, they completed a Master Degree in NeuroEngineering and a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, both from the same university. Additionally, Alessandro was a student with a scholarship at ISICT - Istituto Superiore di Studi in Tecnologie dell'Informazione e della Comunicazione, where they studied Economics, Engineering, and Management.
